An investigation into how individual actions feed into communal and community outcomes. Through small rewilding actions, followed by conversation, and further actions I aim to create a snowball effect. People see change, and change emboldens them to make their own changes. I want to improve the biodiversity of the given area of Rogue Artist's Studios.

Migrants Welcome, 2022, Swift nesting box, Rogue Artists Studios, MP3 of swift calls, waterproof speaker

Swift boxes are mounted on the north-east face of Rogue Artists Studios. Calls play at sunrise and sunset, mimicking nesting swifts, to tempt others to check the area for suitable sites. The targets are 2-3 year old swifts nesting for the first time. The swift enters the box from the small hole in the base.

An experiment in urban rewilding and biodiversity regeneration. Created using found, recycled and hoarded materials. The seeds are a mix of annual and perennial native wildflowers, in the first year we see mainly the annuals. This work will change and grow over several years. Ongoing surveys will record the increase of biodiversity on site.

Early adopters of the Micro Meadow, this tiny aphid is being devoured by a monstrous 7-spot Ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata). The 7-spot is the most common Ladybird in Europe, but there are fears that in the UK it is being outcompeted by the harlequin ladybird.
