Seedbombs, 2019, HOMEmcr

Cast peat and clay seedbombs containing a mix of native moorland plants, carpet moss

One day in March 2019 700 empty fire extinguishers were found fly-tipped on Saddleworth Moor. I collected some of these and cast seedbombs from them.

They are part of my on-going residency with the conservation charity Moors for the Future looking at their work in the Peak District. The aim of the project is to return them to the moor where they will break down to re-vegetate areas of degraded bare peat, turning an act of environmental vandalism into positive action of rewilding.
